In a bold step toward rejuvenating moral values and social responsibility among young people, the Anambra State Civic and Social Reformation Office (ANCISRO) has taken its sensitisation campaign to schools and College of the Master, Awka is the first of many schools. The outreach, which held during the school’s morning assembly, is part of a state-wide initiative to combat the rising tide of social vices threatening youth development.
The enlightenment session, held under the theme ‘The Deceptions in What You See and the Reality of What They Are,’ organised by ANCISRO with the collaboration of a non-governmental organisation, the Foundation for Attitude Repair (FAR).
Speaking during the event, Managing Director of ANCISRO, Chuka I. Nnabuife, delivered a compelling message underscoring the urgent need for a moral rebirth among today’s youth. In his address, he emphasized that young people must reclaim the time-tested values that have given birth to responsible and productive citizens.
He identified four core principles — planning, time management, integrity, and faith in God/prayer — as essential foundations for personal growth and sustainable success. According to Sir Nnabuife, planning gives direction and purpose to a young person’s life, while effective time management helps them stay focused and productive. He emphasized that integrity, though increasingly undervalued in today’s society, remains one of the most vital attributes anyone can possess, shaping one’s character and earning long-term respect. He equally explained that prayer is a unique source of inner strength, guidance, and moral clarity, especially in the face of life’s temptations and life’s challenges.
Mr. Nnabuife expressed deep concern about the growing trend of youths idolizing flashy but deceptive lifestyles often promoted on social media and by entertainment figures. He noted that these portrayals — often marked by luxury, quick wealth, and reckless living — mask the harsh realities and consequences behind them, misleading many into dangerous pursuits.
“Hard work and honesty may not trend online,” he told the students, “but they are the real keys to sustainable success.” He urged them not to be swayed by the superficial glitter of instant gratification, reminding them that every great achievement is a product of consistent effort, discipline, and ethical living.

His message was not just a warning but a call to action — a charge for the students to become part of a new generation that upholds truth, earns success the right way, and contributes positively to society.
Reinforcing this message, frontline campaigner of FAR, Emmanuel John urged the students to be vigilant and resist the allure of social vices. He listed cultism, drug abuse, get-rich-quick schemes, and teenage pregnancy as dangerous pitfalls that must be avoided at all costs. According to Mr. Emmanuel, true ambition is built on crucial values among which are discipline, appreciable character, and consistency.
The school’s principal, Maduakonam Okeke, gave a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing deep appreciation to Anambra State Government and ANCISRO for what he described as a timely “life-shaping intervention.”
“This kind of interaction,” Mr. Okeke said, “is what our students need. It complements what we teach in the classroom and gives real context to what it means to be a responsible citizen.”
The Principal also earnestly appealed to the government to give full support to thIs ANCISRO initiative, stressing that such a program is crucial for addressing the growing moral decline among today’s youth.
The ANCISRO Schools’ Outreach campaign continues across Anambra State, with the aim of reawakening the values of aka ajaja na-ebute ọnụ mmanụ mmanụ (honest labour brings sweet rewards) anchoring the next generation of Anambra youth in dignity, purpose, and social responsibility.
